Stubble Turnip

Vollenda is a popular variety offering high yields, good root anchorage, resistance to bolting and good resistance to clubroot and Alternaria. This highly palatable variety has a large bulb and is suitable for grazing sheep and cattle through autumn and winter.

Gorilla rape is a new variety that offers regrowth after an early first grazing allowing for an initial flush to be utilised before shutting down in preparation for a second crop later in the season. This winter hardy, short, leafy variety is the perfect choice for sheep grazing and finishing lambs. It also boasts good resistance to lodging and a high leaf to stem ration. Lucerne can provide many health benefits to both animals and soil fertility. Best grown on free draining soils due to its deep rooting system. The roots help improve soil structure and aid fertility. A very drought tolerant crop for making high protein silage/hay with potential for multi-cutting. Seeds come pre-inoculated.

Brassica Mix

Non-Hardy Early Cover Crop

A mix of mustard and fodder radish for rapid establishment and large amounts of green matter. Fodder radish is deep rooting, penetrating through the soil structure improving water infiltration and rooting potential for future crops as well as drawing up nutrients from the subsoil. Although not very winter hardy, mustard is quick to get away and produces lots of biomass and has potential to reduce wireworm populations. Any frost damaged plants will surface mulch ready for incorporation.
